Job summary

Disability Rights Michigan (DRM) has an immediate opening for a full‑time attorney focused on Medicaid litigation and advocacy. This five‑year position may extend beyond five years if funding permits, with a hybrid office arrangement in Lansing.

The attorney will provide direct representation in state and federal courts and administrative proceedings, handling complex Medicaid and Olmstead litigation and related hearings, while collaborating with DRM staff and outside counsel.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor Degree from an accredited law school and admitted to practice law in Michigan.
• Active membership in the Michigan State Bar.
• At least three years’ relevant litigation experience, ideally involving complex litigation and Medicaid/ADA/Olmstead litigation.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct representation to individuals in courts and administrative proceedings on Medicaid-related matters.
• Lead and participate in complex Medicaid and Olmstead litigation, including class actions and Medicaid Fair Hearings.
• Develop impact litigation and advocacy strategies in collaboration with DRM staff and outside counsel.
