Job summary

Disability Rights Michigan (DRM) has an immediate opening for a full-time attorney in Lansing. Requires a JD from an accredited law school and admission to the Michigan bar, with at least five years of relevant litigation experience, including complex, 1983, Medicaid, or ADA cases. Administrative hearing experience is highly desired.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Active State Bar of Michigan membership.
• Minimum five years of relevant litigation experience, including complex or ADA/Medicaid litigation.
• Strong written and oral communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in state and federal courts and administrative proceedings, including Medicaid and ADA-related cases.
• Provide support to agency staff and outside groups; assist with trainings and reporting as needed.
• Collaborate with DRM staff and outside counsel on litigation strategy and case management.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional and internal DRM policies.
• Engage in public-interest advocacy and participate in task forces or coalitions as needed.
