Job summary

State of Oklahoma seeks a Disability Program Specialist IV to lead statewide disability programs within the Office of Disability Concerns. You will research issues, provide information and advocacy to clients, and assist with resolving complaints via mediation or legal channels.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree plus years of related experience, and familiarity with Adobe Experience Manager and Microsoft Office. Travel is required as part of the job.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and four years of experience involving disability programs.
• Experience in employment development, guidance or civil rights administration is preferred.
• Knowledge of federal, state and municipal laws affecting disability programs.
• Ability to read statutes, guidelines and technical materials and decide appropriately.
• Familiar with Adobe Experience Manager and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, implement and coordinate statewide disability programs.
• Perform case management and provide counseling and information referral.
• Provide technical assistance on compliance with laws and regulations.
• Assist clients with civil complaints and pursue remedies via mediation or legal means.
• Develop needs assessments and prepare reports and recommendations.
• Coordinate staff for displays, exhibitions and awareness events.
