Job Description And Duties Under the direction of the Case Adjudication Bureau Chief, the DESA I (Team Manager) plans, organizes and directs the activities & workload of a team comprised of Disability Evaluation Analysts, Medical Consultants and Support Staff, engaged in the adjudication of Social Security & SSI disability claims. Cases are of a highly complex nature and require a working understanding of the disability program's policies & regulations. The Team Manager coordinates the quantity & quality of the team's work, determines staff development & training requirements, as well as coaches the team toward high involvement & success. The Team Manager participates in recruiting & hiring staff, assists with establishing goals, policies and priorities as a member of the Branch Management Team.

Criminal record checks of prospective full- or part-time CDSS, Disability Determination Service Division (DDSD) personnel will be conducted. (Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12)

Candidates who reside outside of the State of California may be admitted to the job interview, but they must provide proof of residence in California prior to being eligible for appointment.
