Job summary

DirectShifts is seeking a General Medicine physician to perform VA C&P disability examinations, review medical records, and complete Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs). No prescribing or ongoing patient care is required.

The ideal candidate holds an MD/DO, is board certified or eligible, and maintains an active unrestricted license. Flexible scheduling (FT/PT/PRN) and strict adherence to VA, HIPAA, and state/federal guidelines are expected.

Qualifications

• Board Certified/Board Eligible General Medicine physician (MD/DO)
• Active, unrestricted MD/DO license
• Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills
• Experience with disability evaluations or related fields preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform VA Compensation & Pension (C&P) disability examinations.
• Review Veterans' medical records and relevant documentation before each evaluation.
• Conduct comprehensive General Medicine examinations.
• Accurately complete Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) and required reports.
• Document findings clearly, objectively, and within established timelines.
• Maintain compliance with VA guidelines, HIPAA, and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure timely completion of evaluations.
