Job Overview
As a Long-Term Disability (LTD) Claims Examiner, you'll manage approximately 95 to 100 claims, providing excellent customer service and utilizing judgment to assess risk and make claim decisions. You'll collaborate with medical and vocational resources to evaluate disability status and support return-to-work initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer service to differentiate Prudential and meet commitments.
- Communicate via phone, email, and text with employees, employers, attorneys, and other stakeholders.
- Review and interpret medical records and complete financial calculations.
- Understand and apply Prudential's claim system, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Apply contract provisions to ensure accurate eligibility and liability decisions.
- Use analytical and critical thinking skills to verify ongoing liability and develop return-to-work strategies.
- Document claim decisions clearly and communicate effectively with customers.
- Leverage resources and tools to make informed claims decisions.
- Maintain timely and accurate claims processing, responding to inquiries and upholding quality standards.
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple priorities independently and within a team.
Qualifications
- 2-3 years of experience in Long-Term Disability Claim Management or relevant field.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills, bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
- Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
- Attention to detail, analytical skills, and sound judgment.
- Ability to adapt, problem-solve, and work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency with computer systems, including Excel and Word.
