Job summary

Oregon Department of Human Services is seeking a Disability Analyst 2 to independently evaluate initial SSA/SSI disability applications and manage a caseload of 80–100 claims in Salem, Oregon. You will review medical and vocational evidence, apply regulations, and issue determinations with timely, defensible decisions.

The role requires experience with disability adjudication, legal standards, and collaboration with staff, while offering a strong benefits package and opportunities for ongoing

Qualifications

• Three years of experience analyzing facts to determine eligibility under program guidelines and regulations.
• Two of the three years must include evaluating SSDI/SSI applicants.
• Six years of progressively related experience may substitute for the degree path.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional, respectful service to claimants, partners, and colleagues.
• Manage an independent caseload of approximately 80–100 claims.
• Analyze medical, vocational, and lay evidence; apply SSA laws and determine allowances/denials.
• Develop and document claims with medical evidence, resolving discrepancies and assessing RFC.
• Conduct reconsiderations, audits, and court-ordered reviews with de novo standards.
