Job summary

Emerson is seeking a skilled operator to join the foundry production team in Erie, performing DISAMATIC molding operations and related furnace work. Daily tasks include feeding the Asea furnace, sampling, and coordinating core masks, with attention to safety and quality standards.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma, lift truck safety training, and the ability to read, perform basic math, and meet physical demands.

Qualifications

  • Must pass a Lift Truck Operator safety training course and maintain a current license.
  • Must be able to read and perform basic math functions.
  • Ability to meet physical requirements including standing, lifting, walking and bending.

Responsibilities

  • Pour iron from a 2-ton ladle into the Asea furnace.
  • Take metal samples from the Asea furnace and deliver to the Met Lab.
  • Operate the Asea furnace.
  • Fill the alloy bin above the pouring line.
  • Fill alloy disc tubes with correct thickness discs.
  • Place ram and swing pattern halves on the Disamatic.
  • Put the proper coremask on the Disa and set cores in the coremask.
  • Coordinate the DISA operation including coresetting, alloy addition, and metal pouring.
  • Participate in repairs to the Asea, the Disa, the Mullor, and the Sand transporter.
  • Clean area at the end of the shift.
  • Perform a daily safety inspection of Lift Truck and the Asea crane.
  • Other duties as assigned.

BASIC FUNCTION

A crucial part of the production team at Urick Foundry collaborating to operate DISAMATIC Molding machine.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Pour iron from a 2-ton ladle into the Asea furnace.
  • Take metal samples from the Asea furnace and deliver to the Met Lab.
  • Operate the Asea furnace.
  • Fill the alloy bin that is above the pouring line.
  • Fill alloy disc tubes with the correct size (thickness) of discs.
  • Place ram and swing pattern halves on the Disamatic.
  • Put the proper coremask on the Disa and set the correct cores in the coremask.
  • Coordinate the DISA operation including coresetting, alloy addition, and metal pouring.
  • Participate in repairs to the Asea, the Disa, the Mullor, and the Sand transporter.
  • Clean area at the end of the shift.
  • Perform a daily safety inspection of Lift Truck and the Asea crane.

EDUCATION
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience
  • Must pass a Lift Truck Operator safety training course and maintain a current license.
  • Must be able to read and preform basic math functions
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements include standing, lifting walking and bending, etc.
  • Must be willing to operate equipment safely.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
EXPERIENCE
  • Must be trained in the operation of the Disamatic, either formally or by an operator who was trained formally.
