Job summary

Emerson in Tulsa, OK seeks an Applications Engineer to support the Tank Management portfolio in PRM. You will work with sales, engineering and marketing to deliver technical quotes, pricing and product guidance, and deliver customer-focused solutions.

This role emphasizes field-facing support, training, and collaboration to ensure on-time, within-margin orders while expanding product knowledge and customer relationships.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills to facilitate effective communication of technical concepts and ideas.
  • A high level of mechanical aptitude.
  • Interpersonal skills to work with a wide range of individuals at all levels.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare quotes for inquiries or projects that require technical knowledge and provide technical assistance to the sales channel concerning product applicability and installation practices.
  • Provide accurate and timely pricing and product support to our sales channel; this includes lead times, pricing, confirmation of purchase orders, as well as engineering and manufacturing developments affecting customer orders.
  • Coordinate and participate in customer sales presentations and assist the development and presentation of product training for the sales channel, employees, and customers.
  • Accountable for insuring quotes and submittals are within profit and margin guidelines and within the time frame allotted.
  • Utilize sales skills to probe and build orders to outbound and inbound customers.
  • Responsible for sustaining and continuing product knowledge of existing and new products and applications.
  • Function as a liaison between the sales channel and other internal departments (Marketing, Sales, Engineering).

Job Description

In this role you will provide technical engineering support to the sales channel related to the Tank Management product portfolio in our Pressure Management (PRM) business unit. You will be a part of a collaborative and highly performing team of Applications Engineers that are focused on providing our customers with world-class experience. This role is customer-facing, and you will be involved with a wide range of responsibilities like technical support, improvement projects and presenting to various audiences. You will collaborate and partner with Regional Sales, Business Development, Marketing, and Engineering functions and be responsible for managing your workload to ensure timely and accurate result

As an Applications Engineer you will:

  • Ability to travel up to 10%
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or chemical engineering
  • Relevant engineering work or Internship/Co-op experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience in customer-facing, service-related, inside sales, or technical sales role
  • Experience organizing and presenting training seminars internally and externally
