Job summary

TransUnion in Chicago is seeking a Director of Software Engineering to provide strategic and technical leadership across distributed teams. You will drive modernization efforts, migrate legacy systems to cloud-native microservices, and ensure reliable, secure APIs and scalable platforms.

You will mentor senior engineers, establish best practices in DevSecOps, CI/CD, and automated testing, and align technology decisions with product roadmaps and business goals while delivering high-quality

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Applications, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or any Engineering field, or a related field plus 2 years of experience as a Lead Engineer / Developer or in software architecture / design required.
  • Must have proven track record for building great teams that are focused on the marathon of continuous delivery and innovation; building low latency, high throughput, scalable, fault-tolerant systems.
  • Experience containerizing and running productions systems in public cloud; software design experience with APIs, Unix, Linux, Informix, PostgreSQL, Python, Web Services in C and C++, Java, SOAP, JSON, Google Protocol Buffer, Shell Scripting, GIT, Mercurial, Artifactory, Maven, UML, Match Algorithm design.
  • Some telecommuting permitted.
