Job summary

Goodwill Industries Sacramento Valley and Northern Nevada, Inc. is seeking a Director of Workforce Development to lead career development programs, training, and job readiness initiatives.

You will oversee program design, quality assurance, and certification efforts while aligning services with the organization's mission and funding requirements. The role requires strong leadership, budget oversight, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to cultivate partnerships with employers.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Ability to travel as needed; may be required to work evenings and weekends.
• Experience working with diverse communities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking.
• Experience in leading and working with a diverse staff.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Effective organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple activities with changing priorities.
• Interpersonal and communication skills to interact with a diverse population.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership, strategies, analysis, development, oversight and support to ensure success and compliance of the department's goals.
• Achieves mission and financial goals through budget planning and oversight.
• Ensures grant/contract compliance and performance with funding sources as the point of contact.
• Develops department goals, budget, plans and services aligned with the strategic plan.
• Maintains documentation of program operations and reports to the Board.
• Leads community involvement to assess needs and opportunities and build partnerships.
• Represents the organization professionally at media and fundraising events.
• Performs managerial duties including interviewing, evaluating, and development of staff.
