Job summary

Larkin Street Youth Services in San Francisco is seeking a Director of Client & Clinical Services to oversee Wellness clinicians, interns, and program operations. This role emphasizes clinical supervision, staff development, and cross-department collaboration to support homeless and marginally housed Transitional Age Youth.

The position requires a Master’s degree in a related field, a CA LCSW/LMFT license, and experience with trauma-informed, harm-reduction approaches.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Social Welfare, or closely related field.
• Current California LCSW or LMFT license; preferably 2+ years and eligible to provide clinical supervision.
• Experience providing consultation and support to staff, including leading trainings on mental health, substance use, and harm reduction.
• Experience providing individual and group therapy to TAY, homeless or marginally housed individuals; crisis intervention and de-escalation skills.
• Proficient written and verbal communication; ability to engage diverse audiences.
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus; commitment to DEI and trauma-informed care.

Responsibilities

• Manage and triage waitlist for Wellness clinical services and match referrals to clinicians and interns.
• Provide clinical and/or administrative supervision to Wellness staff and non-clinical staff as needed.
• Update and distribute monthly Wellness newsletters to staff with best practices and community updates.
• Provide 1:1 clinical consultation to staff and Leadership; facilitate Collaborative Case Conferences.
• Lead trainings on mental health, substance use, harm reduction, and best practices for TAY communities.
• Ensure coordinated service delivery, grant/contract compliance, and fiscal responsibility with leadership.
• Develop partnerships with SFDPH, CBOs, and providers serving TAY and adults; promote cross-agency collaboration.
• Monitor clinical notes, audit files, and complete admin tasks with no Medicare billing.
• Oversee harm reduction kits creation and data collection per agency policies.
• Actively participate in DEI work and promote inclusive practices.
