Job summary

Maryland Public Television, the state's public broadcaster, seeks an experienced director/videographer to maintain high production standards on both studio and on-location shoots. You will manage camera, lighting, audio and talent to capture impactful content across regional and national productions.

Responsibilities include planning, directing, and coordinating all technical elements, with emphasis on composition, timing, and on-site problem solving in diverse environments.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited high school or GED.
• Five (5) years of experience in television or film with portable equipment.
• Note: 30 college credit hours per year of experience allowed for up to two years.

Responsibilities

• Operate video camera and accessories, microphones, audio mixer, lighting and related gear for productions.
• Coordinate production elements including planning and pre-production meetings.
• Perform Technical Director duties with switcher, graphics and timing.
• Act as Director of Photography, deciding composition, continuity and sequencing.
• Direct on-camera talent to ensure quality performance.
• Meet client needs and manage projects within time and budget constraints.
• Assemble/disassemble sets and handle studio lighting and grip tasks.
• Fill roles such as floor director, camera operator, or teleprompter operator.
