Job summary

X-energy is seeking a Director of Value Engineering and Product Management to work cross-functionally across projects. This role is crucial for ensuring that engineering teams make informed design decisions taking into account cost and value.

The successful candidate will develop tools for rapid cost estimating and foster a culture of cost-conscious engineering. Candidates should have 10–15 years of experience in cost estimating, ideally within megaprojects in the energy sector.

Qualifications

• 10–15+ years of experience in cost estimating or project controls.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and earned value management.
• Experience in megaprojects ideally $500M+ in energy or construction sectors.

Responsibilities

• Connect finance, engineering, and commercial development organizations.
• Lead development of cost control systems and rapid cost estimating frameworks.
• Monitor budgets and forecasts to ensure financial compliance.
• Serve as voice of the customer translating technical decisions into cost impacts.
• Embed within engineering organization to build relationships and trust.
• Champion culture of cost-conscious engineering for smart decision-making.
