Job summary

Burns & McDonnell's 1898 & Co. arm seeks a Director to drive the sale and execution of management and advisory consulting engagements across our unit.

You will lead a team of consultants and analysts in day-to-day project quality, schedule, cost control, contracts, and client relations. You will plan and direct projects, run workshops with senior client teams to define needs, develop actionable plans, and translate insights into value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher with 13 years consulting experience.
• MBA preferred.
• Proven success managing consulting engagements.
• Strong analytical and financial understanding.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Facilitation and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multi-discipline teams.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and direct consulting projects, including pursuit, negotiation, execution, cost, schedule, and quality of deliverables.
• Facilitate workshop sessions with senior-level client teams to understand requirements, uncover needs and develop action plans.
• Leverage strategic thinking to anticipate client problems and provide innovative and impactful solutions.
• Liaise with clients, often as the first point of contact for all project-related communications.
• Coordinate with internal and external subject matter experts for pursuit and delivery of projects.
• Compile, distribute, and present status reports on progress, schedule, cost and budget impacts.
• Establish project teams, coordinate activities among multiple disciplines and ensure efficient staff utilization.
• Develop and contribute to training curriculums and materials for consultants and analysts.
• Manage the delivery of third-party vendors and subcontractors, including contracts, scope, schedule, and budget.
• Provide performance feedback to personnel managers for project team members.
• Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities.
• Ensure prime contract, subcontractor, and supplier invoicing is processed timely.
• Provide managerial direction and work assignments to consultants and analysts.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
