Ladders is seeking a Director-level leader to drive underwriting strategy and governance for complex life cases. This remote US-based role partners with underwriting leadership to elevate standards, improve decision-making, and guide policy evolution in a highly regulated environment.

The position emphasizes coaching, training program development, and governance initiatives, with a signing authority of $20M for advanced design and extensive life underwriting expertise expected.

Formación

• 10+ years of life underwriting experience with a focus on complex cases.
• Demonstrated signing authority of $20M for advanced case design.
• Strong mentoring and coaching skills for underwriters.
• Deep technical expertise in life underwriting risk assessment.
• Familiarity with AI and emerging underwriting technologies.
• Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s or MBA preferred.
• Professional designations preferred or in progress (ACS, ALU, FLMI, FALU, CLU).

For our client, we are seeking a Director, Underwriting Strategy & Governance to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This leader will drive the direction, consistency, and oversight of underwriting practices across complex life cases. The role partners closely with underwriting leadership to strengthen standards, improve decision-making, and support thoughtful policy evolution in a highly regulated environment. It is well suited for a seasoned underwriting professional who brings both technical depth and the ability to influence governance, training, and team capability. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $175,000 – $190,000 annually
