Job summary

Swiss Re is seeking a seasoned Director, Underwriting Portfolio Management to lead the portfolio plan, capital allocation and steering actions. You will work hands-on with underwriting data in Palantir and other analytics platforms to derive robust conclusions and translate them into actionable management decisions.

You will own the portfolio conclusions, track outcomes, and collaborate across underwriting, finance, risk, and senior leadership to drive performance and resilience.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience analysing and managing complex underwriting portfolios.
• Strong ability to translate evidence into explicit portfolio choices and measurable improvements.
• Proven capability to interrogate large datasets and produce decision-ready insights.
• Deep understanding of capital-allocation, risk, return and diversification.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver the underwriting portfolio plan and Group Capital Allocation Strategy.
• Assess portfolio economics, risk, return, diversification and capital usage.
• Test hypotheses and derive robust portfolio conclusions using Palantir and other platforms.
• Identify material risks and opportunities to drive management action.
• Translate analysis into steering actions and monitor implementation.
• Collaborate with data/analytics teams to improve tools and decision-support.
