Job summary

Sony Interactive Entertainment seeks a Director of Technical Program Management & Engineering Business Operations in San Mateo, hybrid. Lead the TPM function for FSEE Americas and drive Engineering Business Operations to support VP-level strategy.

You will partner with executives on planning, metrics, and long-term organizational health across a globally distributed team. A strong leadership background and strategic execution are essential.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience leading complex technical programs within software, platform, infrastructure, cloud, or related engineering organizations.
• 5+ years of experience managing Technical Program Managers, Program Managers, or similar functions.
• A track record of leading large-scale, cross-functional initiatives with senior stakeholders and influencing outcomes without direct authority.
• Strong people leadership skills with experience building, developing, and growing high-performing teams.
• Exceptional written, verbal, and executive communication skills.
• Experience with annual planning, portfolio management, organizational operations, and executive reviews.
• A solid understanding of software development lifecycles, engineering processes, and technical architectures.
• Ability to operate effectively at both strategic and tactical levels, balancing long-term objectives with near-term execution.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow the Americas-based FSEE TPM team, building ownership and continuous improvement.
• Establish operating models, delivery standards, governance, and reporting mechanisms for cross-functional programs.
• Partner with engineering, product, architecture, and operations leaders to drive strategic initiatives.
• Collaborate with TPM leadership in EMEA to standardize practices across regions.
• Develop talent, succession plans, and career paths within the TPM organization.
• Serve as the functional leader for Technical Program Management.
