Qualifications

  • 10–15 years of experience in related job duties and 5–7 years in leadership.
  • Experience with private companies or large multi-division businesses.
  • In-depth knowledge of compensation and benefits laws and compliance (FLSA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, PPACA).

  • Develop the total rewards strategy across all businesses.
  • Design and communicate management and executive compensation plans.
  • Lead health and welfare benefits strategy and costs.
  • Oversee payroll processes and tax reporting.
  • Drive annual salary planning and merit increase processes.
  • Collaborate with external vendors on compensation and benefits.
  • Ensure programs are equity, competitive, and compliant.
  • Provide leadership and guidance for compensation deployment.
  • Participate in due diligence for mergers and acquisitions.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive communication plan for programs.

Position Requirements & Major Responsibilities
  • Contributing to the development of the Total reward strategy across all businesses and functions, in collaboration with others, assuring internal equity and external competitiveness.
  • Developing compensation strategy and directing the design, implementation and communication of all management and executive compensation plans/policies for all compensation programs.
  • Developing health and welfare benefit strategy and directing the design, implementation, communication and cost control of health and welfare benefit programs for all employees.
  • Providing leadership, guidance and direction while ensuring the deployment of the company's compensation programs including annual salary planning/merit increases process, salary structures, variable pay, commissions and other incentive programs to ensure alignment with company's goals, initiatives and budget.
  • Working in partnership with external vendors and consultants in both compensation and benefit arenas to ensure the company is positioned competitively and stays current on trends/changes in both the utility industry and general industry.
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of existing compensation and benefit programs, policies and guidelines and ensuring they are market competitive, cost effective, aligned with corporate goals and are in compliance with company policies, federal legislation and other government and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish and oversee payroll processes and procedures for routine processing, tax reporting and internal financial requirements.
  • Design short- and long-term strategies to achieve continuous improvement and efficiencies in payroll process and delivery operations.
  • Developing and executing a comprehensive communication strategy for compensation and benefit programs and identifying opportunities to better enable the company to improve employee engagement, facilitate proactive and effective messaging and cadence as well as support the company's growth and strategic plan.
  • Playing a critical role in the due diligence process and comprehensive review of all compensation and benefit plans for new ventures, mergers and acquisitions.
Qualifications
  • 10-15 years experience in the associated job duties and essential functions; 5-7 years of leadership experience.
  • Experience with a private company or large business unit, preferably with complex, multi-division structure.
  • Applied knowledge of rules, laws and compliance governing compensation and benefits plans (FLSA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, PPACA, etc.).
  • Experience in business turnaround situations with emphasis on establishing process and identifying and implementing cost-effective programs.
  • Experience in an environment recognize for driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.
