Job summary

Ameriprise Financial is seeking a Director of Technology Risk to lead the second line of defense, overseeing IT risk, controls, and risk governance. This role reports to the VP, Technology Risk Office and engages with senior IT stakeholders to enhance risk transparency and culture.

The position requires 7–10 years of experience in IT risk, governance, and leadership, with a focus on AI risk management. In-person collaboration is foundational, with flexible work arrangements and robust benefits.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of IT risk management, controls, and AI risk management.
• Familiarity with NIST, COBIT, FFIEC, ISO27000 and other IT governance standards.
• Ability to communicate IT risks to non-technical stakeholders with clarity.
• Experience using eGRC solutions.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Proven leadership and ability to influence across leadership levels.
• Ability to drive results and meet deadlines to reduce risks.

Responsibilities

• Lead risk oversight across the business and ensure effective identification, assessment and management of risks.
• Oversee risk reviews, monitoring and credible challenge of processes to align with standards.
• Support ORM methodology deployment and governance across the unit.
• Drive RCSA processes, tools, and methodology improvements.
• Provide risk reporting, dashboards, and analytics for decision-making.
• Coach, mentor, and develop team members and reporting staff.
