Job description

OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY

Fox Corporation Under the FOX banner, we produce and distribute content through some of the world’s leading and most valued brands, including: FOX News Media, FOX Sports, FOX Entertainment, FOX Television Stations and Tubi Media Group. We empower a diverse range of creators to imagine and develop culturally significant content, while building an organization that thrives on creative ideas, operational expertise and strategic thinking.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The FOX direct-to-consumer (DTC) platform is a new, forward-looking initiative within Tubi Media Group that brings FOX’s unparalleled content portfolio—news, sports, and entertainment—directly to consumers via an innovative subscription streaming service. Driven by a highly experienced leadership team with extensive backgrounds at the intersections of media, technology, streaming, and content—and built with the full support of Fox Corporation—this venture combines entrepreneurial energy with deep media expertise. Our vision is to create a unified, modern viewing experience that puts the consumer first—seamlessly integrating live and on‑demand content across platforms. At the intersection of cutting‑edge technology and trusted storytelling, this is an opportunity to shape the future of streaming at one of the most pivotal moments in media. We’re assembling a world‑class team to deliver on that vision—and we’re just getting started.

ABOUT THE ROLE

FOX's direct-to-consumer product and technology organization powers FOX One, FOX Sports, FOX Nation, and FOX News digital experiences across mobile, connected TV, and web platforms. We are seeking a Director, Technology Business Operations to lead the strategy, systems, and processes that connect technology investments, resource planning, and software capitalization. Reporting to the VP of Product Operations, you will establish a reliable, scalable source of truth that enables leadership to understand where engineering resources are invested, measure associated costs, and make informed decisions about future investments. In this highly cross‑functional role, you will partner with Program, Engineering, Finance, Controllership, Internal Audit, and People Systems to modernize how labor and investment data is captured, classified, analyzed, and reported. You will also drive the development of AI‑assisted workflows and automation that improve accuracy, strengthen audit readiness, and reduce administrative effort. The ideal candidate combines financial and operational expertise with strong technical fluency, a systems‑oriented mindset, and the ability to translate complex data into simple and actionable business insights. You will play a critical role in building an operating model that is accurate enough to withstand external audit, insightful enough to guide strategic investment decisions, and streamlined enough to integrate naturally into how teams work.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive technology business operations strategy spanning software capitalization, investment planning, resource analytics, and operational governance.
  • Own and continuously improve software labor capitalization methodologies, ensuring clear distinctions between capitalizable development and non‑capitalizable activities, including maintenance, research, operations, and support.
  • Partner with Controllership, Internal Audit, and external auditors to establish capitalization policies, internal controls, evidence standards, and audit‑ready documentation.
  • Drive audit readiness and continuous improvement initiatives that reduce findings, shorten audit cycles, and minimize manual evidence collection.
  • Develop investment and resource planning models that connect labor costs to technology initiatives, products, platforms, and business outcomes.
  • Deliver financial and operational analyses that inform annual planning, quarterly business reviews, capitalization forecasts, and strategic investment decisions.
  • Evaluate resource allocation scenarios, including employee versus contingent labor, build‑versus‑buy decisions, platform versus product investments, and capacity planning.
  • Own the multi‑year roadmap for systems, data models, automation, and AI‑assisted capabilities that support labor tracking, classification, financial reporting, and investment analytics.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and People Systems to define requirements, prioritize enhancements, and implement scalable solutions across Workday, Jira, Jira Product Discovery, and related platforms.
  • Design and implement AI‑assisted workflows for classification recommendations, anomaly detection, audit evidence assembly, and planning analytics, with appropriate human oversight, traceability, and controls.
  • Partner with the VP of Product Operations to streamline information flow across teams, systems, identify opportunities to eliminate redundant reporting, simplify workflows, and reduce administrative burden for engineering teams and leadership.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED

Typically, 10+ years’ experience in technology business operations, software capitalization, technical accounting operations, engineering finance, or technology investment planning within a complex, multi‑product technology organization. Demonstrated success building and scaling cross‑functional systems, processes, and operating models across Finance, HR, and Engineering. Strong understanding of software development capitalization practices, financial controls, audit requirements, and supporting documentation. Experience developing financial and operational models that connect technology investments, labor costs, resource allocation, and business outcomes. Strong analytical and technical capabilities, including hands‑on experience with SQL, business intelligence and analytics tools such as Tableau or Amplitude, and advanced spreadsheet modeling. Entrepreneurial mindset: You proactively seek out the information, context, and relationships you need to move work forward rather than waiting for them to come to you. Experience working with enterprise HRIS, financial, and software development systems, including Workday, Jira, Jira Product Discovery, or comparable platforms. Ability to generate artifacts and products from insights that are simple to use and enable executive decision making, yet solid enough to withstand audits and internal reviews. Practical experience designing or implementing AI‑assisted workflows and automation, with an understanding of data integrity, human oversight, and audit risk. Ability to evaluate AI‑generated outputs, establish appropriate controls, and determine where automation can improve operational accuracy and efficiency. Strong understanding of how software engineering organizations plan, prioritize, develop, and deliver products across multiple platforms. Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, demonstrated ability to influence decisions, build alignment, and drive organizational change without direct reporting authority. A user‑centered, continuous improvement mindset. Regular, on‑site attendance at the workplace a minimum of 3 days per week is an essential function of the position. Selected candidate must be able to reliably meet this requirement.

NICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER

Experience supporting software capitalization processes through external financial audits. Experience developing technology investment frameworks or resource optimization models across multiple digital products and platforms. Familiarity with direct‑to‑consumer streaming, digital media, or subscription‑based technology businesses. Experience implementing AI agents or intelligent automation within financial operations, technology governance, or enterprise planning workflows. Experience integrating data across HRIS, financial planning, engineering work management, and business intelligence platforms. Experience building operational capabilities or governance frameworks from the ground up in a rapidly evolving technology environment.
