Job summary

Defense Logistics Agency, Fort Belvoir, seeks a Director for the Technical and Quality Assurance Directorate within DLA Strategic Materials. The role provides senior technical leadership for QA processes and acts as Process Owner for QA-related initiatives.

The position oversees QA oversight of critical minerals in the National Defense Stockpile, advises on science and technology issues, and interfaces with industry and Congress on budgeting and program requirements.

Responsibilities

• Serves as Director, Technical and Quality Assurance Directorate with DLA Strategic Materials, as the senior technical expert and Process Owner on technical and quality assurance related processes.
• Plans, directs, executes, and provides authoritative oversight for the programs focused on the strict quality assurance and technical oversight of all critical minerals and strategic materials in the National Defense Stockpile (NDS).
• Responds to industry and congressional concerns, presents, and proposes budgeting requirements at senior DLA, Office of Secretary of War, or Congressional levels.
• Serves as the ultimate authority and key Science and Technology Advisor for the NDS, identifying and addressing science and technology issues impacting Stockpile commodities and programs.
• Directs the NDS Material Testing Program, overseeing the independent evaluation of physical and chemical parameters for all critical minerals and strategic materials acquired.
• Serves as the ultimate authority and expert on manufacturing, production, and Quality Assurance programs for the acquisition of Strategic and Critical Materials, services, or supplies in accordance with DLA and DoW quality assurance policies.
