Job summary

Step Up For Students, Inc. is seeking a Director of Technical Accounting to lead the organization’s GAAP accounting function and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting.

You will guide policy development, internal controls, and collaboration with senior leadership to assure compliance and sound financial decisions. The role requires building and mentoring a high‑performing team, coordinating with auditors, and driving continuous improvement across the close process in a remote/work flexible

Qualifications

• 10+ years of accounting/finance experience with GAAP.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• Experience with ERP systems implementations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee reconciliations across balance sheet and income statement.
• Ensure US GAAP compliance and proper month/quarter close.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies and internal controls.
• Lead and develop accounting staff; provide training.
• Support external auditors and major finance projects.
