Job summary

New Mexico Highlands University is seeking a Program Coordinator for the Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE). The role supports faculty development initiatives, resources for quality teaching, and coordination of invited speakers to enhance teaching excellence across NMHU.

The PC will work with the Office of Academic Affairs to implement the CTE mission, maintain the website, and collaborate with university offices and external partners to advance pedagogy in multiple delivery modes.

Qualifications

• PhD or Doctorate of Practice in Social Work is required.
• 7+ years of progressively responsible professional experience in social work practice, applied research, higher education, workforce development, or behavioral health systems, including at least 3 years of administrative or supervisory responsibility.
• Experience leading applied research or program evaluation from design through analysis and dissemination.
• Experience collaborating with legislators, state agency leadership, or comparable policy stakeholders.
• Experience with budget development and oversight, including restricted or externally funded accounts.
• Experience developing and submitting competitive grant proposals, including at least one funded award held as principal investigator or project director.
• Strong scholarly writing and public presentation skills, with ability to translate research findings for diverse audiences.
• Commitment to antiracist, anti-oppressive, and culturally responsive practice for New Mexico communities.

Responsibilities

• Implement the mission and goals of CTE in alignment with NMHU Strategic Plan.
• Collaborate with the CTE Advisory Board to design professional development programs and activities.
• Meet regularly with the CTE Advisory Board to discuss programming and future activities.
• Develop and engage faculty resources, technology, and training in coordination with NMHU offices.
• Maintain and update CTE website content, including marketing.
• Support currency in pedagogy for multi-delivery modes and provide classroom best-practice support.
• Prepare yearly activity reports detailing participation and classroom engagement.
• Coordinate budget planning and management for CTE.
• Maintain CTE records, library of resources, and grants/contracts.
• Track CTE participation and collaborate with other departments and community agencies.
