Job summary

Intermountain Health seeks a system-level leader for Surgical Services to guide internal process control, scheduling, billing, data analytics, and regulatory readiness across Operating Rooms and related units.

The role partners with executives to shape quality, safety, and performance improvements, ensures policy-practice alignment, and drives adoption of best practices and KPI initiatives within the Surgical Services portfolio.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in clinical discipline from an accredited institution (degree verification required).
  • Five years' experience in a Surgical Services area.
  • Demonstrated understanding of surgical and procedural related policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements, including tissue and implant management and related regulations.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including leading teams, initiatives, or organizational change efforts.
  • Experience driving clinical, operational, regulatory, and financial outcomes through collaboration with leaders, physicians, caregivers, and stakeholders across multiple levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Quality and Safety: Partners with executive leadership to establish system-wide quality and safety strategies, ensuring performance measures, outcomes, and improvement initiatives are being tracked and utilized for improvement.
  • Operational Efficiency: Provides oversight of scheduling, billing, and operational support functions to ensure standardized processes, operational efficiency, resource optimization, and consistent execution across system.
  • Financial Stewardship: Partners with Revenue Integrity and operational leaders to optimize revenue capture, charge integrity, supply utilization, and financial performance.
  • Compliance and Improvement Program: Develops and leads a comprehensive compliance program that ensures adherence to federal, state, accreditation, and organizational requirements related to surgical services operations, including tissue and implant tracking, documentation standards, and regulatory readiness.
  • Strategic Leadership: Collaborates with executive leadership to develop, execute, and monitor Surgical Services strategic priorities, organizational goals, and transformational initiatives that support long‑term system objectives.
  • Best Practice: Establishes governance structures and leads efforts to identify, evaluate, and implement evidence‑based best practices, driving standardization, innovation, and continuous improvement across Surgical Services.
  • Governance and Education Participation: Provides leadership in the implementation of policy, practice, and operational changes by partnering with education, quality, and operational teams to ensure successful adoption, sustainability, and measurable outcomes.
  • Leadership: Provides leadership, direction, and support to assigned team members to achieve organizational goals and foster a positive work environment.
