Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health seeks a Director of Surgical/Cardio/Respiratory Services to oversee and optimize patient care across OR, SDS, PACU, Endoscopy, and related departments. You will lead budgeting, staffing, and program development to enhance outcomes and satisfaction.

The role requires a nursing degree, advanced degree in healthcare administration or nursing, and significant management experience in perioperative services. Strong collaboration and governance participation are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Master's degree in nursing or health care administration, business or related field.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
• CNOR certification may be required within 6 months.
• Minimum of 2 years of progressive healthcare administration experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of varied management and perioperative services experience.
• Experience in staffing, budget, and finance.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage Surgical Services including OR, SDS, PACU, Endoscopy, Cardiovascular, Bariatrics, Respiratory Therapy, PAT and SPD.
• Maximize patient satisfaction by implementing an effective program.
• Serve in the absence of VP/Chief Nursing Officer and carry out duties as directed.
• Participate in shared governance and patient safety initiatives.

The Dir, Surgical/Cardio/Respiratory Services is responsible for direction, organization, budget and control of patient care in Surgical Services including Operating Room (OR), Same Day Surgery (SDS), Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), Endoscopy, Cardiovascular Services, Bariatrics, Respiratory Therapy (RT), Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) areas and Sterile Processing Department (SPD). Maximizes patient satisfaction by instituting an effective program. Serves in the absence of the Vice President/Patient Care Services/Chief Nursing Officer, performs duties and responsibilities as directed. Participates in the shared-governance process and patient safety initiatives.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

1. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
2. Masters degree in nursing or in health care administration, business or other related field.
3. Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
4. May require CNOR or within 6 months.
5. Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in healthcare administration with increasing level of administrative responsibility.
6. Minimum of 5 years of varied and progressive management & perioperative services experience.
7. Experience in staffing, budget, and finance.
8. Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred: Licenses and Certifications Required:

1. NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License.
2. AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
