Job summary

National Vision Inc. is seeking a Director of Supply Chain Applications to lead the design, development, and modernization of the technology platforms powering our supply chain.

You will guide the application portfolio, drive cloud migration, and ensure continuity across critical systems. The role requires extensive IBM i and JDA experience, with a track record of delivering strategic roadmaps and strong partnership with Supply Chain, Distribution, and Finance leaders.

Qualifications

• 9+ years experience on IBM i (AS/400/iSeries) required.
• Experience sunsetting legacy JDA/IBM and migrating to a modern SaaS solution such as Oracle preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership of application development and support teams responsible for business-critical systems.
• Demonstrated success leading enterprise application portfolios that support supply chain, distribution, retail, merchandising, or other large-scale operational functions.
• Extensive experience supporting and enhancing highly customized packaged applications with complex business rules, interfaces, and integration dependencies.
• Proven experience leading supply chain or merchandising platform modernization initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the development of critical applications and technology to support the company’s long-term goals.
• Owns the supply chain application portfolio, including strategy, delivery, maintenance, production support, and lifecycle planning.
• Oversees an extensively customized JDA environment running on IBM i (AS/400 / iSeries).
• Provides technical direction for RPG, CL, database interactions, batch workflows, and interfaces.
• Reviews complex code and application changes, assess downstream impacts, and guide troubleshooting of production issues.
• Leads ALDON change management, release governance, deployment readiness, and rollback planning.
• Partners with leaders across Supply Chain, Distribution, Finance translating operational requirements into scalable solutions.
• Documents critical business rules, customizations, interfaces, and operational dependencies.
