Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group is seeking a Director of Engineering for Substation in Texas. The role oversees the planning, design, and implementation of transmission and substation projects, leading a team of engineers and technical staff to meet regulatory, safety, and quality standards.

You will collaborate with Operations, Finance, and Regulatory Affairs to align engineering initiatives with company goals and drive innovation and operational excellence across projects.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in electric utility engineering or management for high voltage projects.
• B.S. or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited university.
• P.E. license required.
• Proven track record leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and delivering complex projects on time and budget.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers and professionals.

• Oversee planning, design, and execution of transmission and substation projects.

• Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes; adopt best practices.
• Ensure safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance in engineering activities.
• Contribute to strategic plans and objectives in transmission and substation infrastructure.
• Identify and evaluate new business opportunities and partnerships.
• Collaborate with Operations, Finance, and Regulatory Affairs to align initiatives.
• Build relationships with regulators, customers, contractors, and suppliers.
• Represent the company at industry forums and regulatory meetings.
