Job summary

MSU - Michigan State University seeks a Director for the Student Parents and Caregivers Resource Center (SPCRC) to provide strategic leadership and oversee services supporting student parents and caregivers across all campuses.

The role partners with Financial Aid, The Graduate School, and academic colleges to advance academic success, retention, well-being, and belonging, while supervising staff and managing the SOS Emergency Fund.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Social Work, Public Administration, Counseling, Education, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressively responsible professional experience in higher education, student affairs, student support services, basic needs initiatives, family support programs, case management, or related areas.
• Demonstrated experience developing and managing programs that support student success and retention.
• Experience supervising professional staff and/or student employees.
• Demonstrated ability to build collaborative partnerships across diverse stakeholder groups.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight for SPCRC and related initiatives.
• Serve as lead advocate for parenting and caregiving students and collaborate across campus.
• Oversee SOS Emergency Fund and related support programs, ensuring access to financial assistance and services.
• Manage departmental operations, supervise staff, and coordinate resources.
• Collaborate with Financial Aid, The Graduate School, and colleges to promote student success and inclusive excellence.
