Job summary

Lerch Bates Inc. is seeking an entrepreneurial, technically accomplished Licensed Professional Engineer to lead and grow our Structural Forensics practice in The Colony, TX.

This hands-on director role combines technical leadership with business growth, client development, and team mentorship. You will oversee investigations, failure analyses, and rehabilitation strategies while guiding a growing team of forensic consultants and engineers.

Qualifications

• Active PE license required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years in forensic/structural engineering or related disciplines.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing client relationships.
• Strong financial, project management, and operations planning capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and direction for the Structural Forensics practice.
• Oversee project delivery, staffing, budgeting, and client relationships.
• Lead business development and expansion of services with strategic growth.
• Mentor and develop forensic engineers and consultants.
• Support litigation, expert consulting, and rehabilitation initiatives.
• Ensure quality, profitability, and client satisfaction across engagements.
