Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent field required; MBA preferred.
• Minimum ten years of experience in Supply Chain Management, preferably in a multi-unit food service and/or manufacturing organization.
• Obtaining a valid Food Handler's Card within 30 days of employment is a requirement of this position.
• Successful completion of initial and periodically required trainings.

Responsibilities

• Owns, leads, and oversees the development and execution of sourcing strategy using the 10-step strategic sourcing process for assigned products and categories in support of its business strategy and plan.
• Collaborates with key internal stakeholders to understand business needs and ensure alignment to develop sourcing strategies.
• Recruits, selects, and develops an effective SCM team. Provides leadership, coaching and development to the team to meet the department’s people planning and development goals.
• Develops and ensures business review sessions are conducted with suppliers to inform and align on business strategies for managed products.
• Establishes and maintains strong professional relationships with partners to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
• Leads or supports cross-functional projects with other departments related to product specifications and service scope of work, quality inquiries, product recall, sourcing and testing new products and services, and phasing in products within distribution.
• Supports global sourcing of products for both domestic and international operations as needed.
• Tracks commodities markets on prices and supply and determines strategy and direction for optimal procurement and logistics program.

Summary Of Job Description

The Director, Strategic Sourcing is responsible for achieving strategic and optimal arrangements related to the sourcing of department products and/or services. This position oversees the execution, selection, evaluation, and negotiation for PRG items and/or services, ensuring that the suppliers and service providers selected fit Panda’s culture and philosophy, have the necessary capacity, and provide the items and services at the best price and highest quality. This position also leads SCM staff involved with sourcing products and/or services.

Job Responsibilities

• Owns, leads, and oversees the development and execution of sourcing strategy using the 10‑step strategic sourcing process for assigned products and categories in support of its business strategy and plan. Identifies suppliers and arranges optimal contracts in terms of pricing, quality, timing, and supply availability over the term of the contract. Interacts with the highest level of executives at supplier companies. Advises senior leadership on the availability of specific products and pricing., pre‑qualifying new suppliers and facilities in terms of price, capacity, safety, and quality. Ensures costs are within budget.
• Collaborates with key internal stakeholders to understand business needs and ensure alignment to develop sourcing strategies. Responsible for the design and execution of the five‑year supply chain strategic plan, anticipating business requirements. The plan includes identifying supplier sources, their purchasing capacity, and any industry and regulatory issues. Informs the SVP and senior leadership on industry insights, such as tariffs, import/export limitations, government regulations, Act of God situations, mergers, acquisitions, personnel changes, new item introduction, etc.
• Recruits, selects, and develops an effective SCM team. Provides leadership, coaching and development to the team to meet the department’s people planning and development goals.
• Develops and ensures business review sessions are conducted with suppliers in order to inform and align on business strategies for managed products. Identifies cost saving initiatives and negotiates terms with suppliers to achieve optimal value.
• Establishes and maintains a strong professional relationship between business partners and the company to drive innovation and continuous improvement. Communicates with partners concerning all aspects of the partnership, including PRG philosophy and growth plans, and aligns partners with Panda to support our growth. Evaluates the effectiveness and fitness of business partners to determine our procurement strategy.
• Leads or supports cross‑functional projects with other departments related to product specifications and service scope of work, quality inquiries, product recall, sourcing and testing new products and services, and phasing in products within distribution.
• Supports global sourcing of products for both domestic and international operations as needed.
• Tracks commodities markets on prices and supply and determines strategy and direction for optimal procurement and logistics program.

Your Background And Experience
