Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a Director of Program Management to act as the key interface across R&D, CMC, and other units to ensure cross-functional alignment for strategic projects. This role will manage IMX expenses, develop dashboards, and partner with Procurement and ME&C to optimize capital planning for pipeline products and established manufacturing needs.

The position reports to the VP of Strategic Capital Deployment and requires 10+ years in the industry with 5+ years in program management, plus

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering; MBA preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GMP manufacturing, supply chain, CMC development and pharma regulations.
• 10+ years in industry; 5+ years in program management.
• PMP certification a plus.
• Strong strategic thinking and leadership; excellent communication and people skills.
• Experience in global/multicultural environments; able to resolve cross-functional conflicts.
• Ability to understand technical aspects of complex systems and guide discussions during problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Interface with R&D, PDS&T, CMC, ME&C to drive cross-functional collaboration.
• Manage information flow to stakeholders and key meetings (e.g., CMC Gate reviews, Steering Committees).
• Act as the contact for inputs like timelines, estimates, planning for BD projects.
• Develop and publish dashboards and KPIs for senior leadership.
• Collaborate with AI and Digital teams to evaluate AI tools for PM.
• Develop and implement a harmonized project planning/scheduling platform.
• Establish sourcing strategy with Procurement for major items.
• Monitor procurement activities for strategic projects.
