Job summary

AbbVie seeks a Director, Engineering, Technical Expert Sterile Fill to lead enterprise-level sterile fill engineering across the strategic investments portfolio. You will shape technical direction, maintain global standards, ensure GMP readiness and drive high-quality capital delivery across facilities and platforms.

You will partner with Quality, Validation, EHS and external partners to address complex risks, advance Annex 1 compliance, and build capability for long-term manufacturing readiness

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• Extensive experience in biologics sterile filling and aseptic processing.
• Strong governance and standards development experience.
• Experience with Annex 1 contamination control expectations.
• Global, cross-site collaboration and program leadership.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior engineering leadership for sterile fill programs and capital projects.
• Set technical direction and ensure compliance with Annex 1 expectations.
• Lead contamination control strategy development and engineering governance.
• Coordinate with Quality, Validation, EHS and operations across sites.
• Drive portfolio delivery, risk management and competency building.
