Job summary

Pfizer is seeking a Director, State Policy & Government Relations to lead a defined portfolio across Iowa, Minnesota, and other states identified by SPGR leadership. You will serve as the enterprise SME for state policy issues and develop policy platforms, legislative language, backgrounders, talking points, and testimony to support Pfizer’s objectives.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
8+ years in state policy or related function; 7+ years with masters/MBA; 5+ years with PhD, JD or PharmD.
Strong understanding of state healthcare policy and government relations.
Excellent written and verbal communication; drafting policy materials.
Ability to build relationships with policymakers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Lead a portfolio of state policy priorities in Iowa, Minnesota, and other states.
Develop policy positions, collateral, backgrounders, and testimony for Pfizer.
Monitor legislation and regulations; plan lobbying strategies.
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to align objectives.
