Job summary

Lifepoint Health is seeking a Director of State Governmental Relations to lead the company’s state government affairs strategy in Brentwood, TN. You will direct legislative priorities, coordinate with division presidents, and manage contracted lobbyists to support Lifepoint’s mission.

The role requires strategic oversight, strong stakeholder engagement, and the ability to navigate regulatory environments across states while advancing Lifepoint’s healthcare objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of experience with 5 years in a government relations department, an elected official's office, or managing political campaigns.
• Willingness to travel up to 25-50% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement state legislative priorities and strategies in alignment with Lifepoint strategies.
• Direct communication with Division Presidents to ensure government relations support operational goals.
• Direct supervision of state lobbyists (contractors).
• Serve as liaison with key state healthcare trade associations to advocate Lifepoint's priorities.
• Coordinate grassroots calls to action across state legislatures and trade associations.
• Manage Lifepoint's political action committees.
