Vivmark Residential seeks a Director/Sr. Director of Interior Design to shape vision and strategy for interiors across multifamily projects in multiple regions. You will lead creative direction, mentor a high-performing studio, and drive quality while championing collaboration and process improvements.

The role requires 15+ years in interior design/architecture with leadership experience, proficiency in Revit/AutoCAD/Enscape, and ability to travel; NCIDQ preferred and LEED AP is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in Interior Design, Architecture or related field.
  • 15+ years of progressive interior design/architecture leadership experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design vision and execution for interior projects (new developments, capital projects, renovations).
  • Oversee a portfolio from concept to construction completion with quality and design excellence.
  • Direct and perform all phases: programming, schematic design, design development, construction docs, FF&E procurement, and construction administration.
  • Forecast staffing, manage pipelines, and align department priorities with business goals.
  • Establish and grow a Dallas-based interior design studio with recruiting and mentorship.
  • Collaborate with Arlington, VA studio for quality and consistency.

We hope you're one of them.The Role:This role has two salary ranges, depending on the level at which the candidate is hired:Director Interior Design: 101,200.00 - 168,700.00Senior Director Interior Design: $121,200 - $202,000The final level will be determined based on each candidate's professional experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role.The Director/Sr. Director of Interior Design will shape the vision and strategic direction of interior design across Vivmark's multifamily development and renovation projects for multiple regions. As a senior design leader, this role will provide creative leadership, guiding teams and cross-functional partners toward a shared vision while establishing a consistently high bar for design quality. The Director/Sr. Director will build and mentor a high performing design studio and will champion design quality, drive process improvements, and create a team culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign Leadership & Project ManagementLead design vision and execution for all interior-related projects, including new developments, capital improvement projects, and renovations.Oversee a portfolio of projects from concept through construction completion, ensuring design excellence and quality.Direct and perform all phases of interior design, including programming, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, FF&E selection, procurement coordination, and construction administration.Manage project pipelines, forecasting, staffing plans, and department priorities to meet business objectives.Team Leadership & Studio DevelopmentEstablish and grow a Dallas-based interior design studio, including recruitment, mentoring, performance management, and professional development of designers.Build a scalable team structure that supports current and future project volume.Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture focused on creativity, innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.Manage workload planning, resource allocation, and team utilization to ensure effective project delivery and team development.Proactively collaborate with Arlington, VA based design studio for design quality, consistency and efficiency.QualificationsRequiredBachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related design discipline from an accredited institution.15+ years of progressive experience in Interior Design, Architecture, or related fields, including leadership of multifamily residential, hospitality, mixed-use, or large-scale commercial projects.Demonstrated experience leading teams, mentoring talent, and managing multiple concurrent projects.Expertise across all phases of the design process, including Programming, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documentation, Construction Administration, and FF&E procurement.Strong project management, budgeting, scheduling, and consultant management experience.Excellent communication, presentation, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.Proven ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on project execution.Proficiency in Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, Enscape, and Microsoft Office Suite.Ability to travel periodically within the US.PreferredNCIDQ Certification.LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) credential.How Vivmark Supports You:We know that our teams are the beating heart of our success and we re committed to showing our appreciation.We offer:A competitive benefits package that supports your health, financial well-being, and work-life balance, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) with company match, paid vacation and company holidays, and exclusive team member housing discounts.Additional Info:Vivmark Residential is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and is committed to an inclusive and diverse work environment free of discrimination and harassment.
