Job summary

Vivmark Residential seeks a Senior Manager, Interior Architect to lead technical development for interior design across new development and capital projects in its multifamily portfolio. You will coordinate with consultants, manage documentation quality, and ensure buildable, design-intent solutions that align with budgets and schedules.

The role requires 12–15 years in architecture/interior design, advanced Revit/AutoCAD skills, and leadership capabilities; NCIDQ and LEED are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, Interior Design, or related field.
  • 12-15 years of relevant professional experience in architecture/interior design with complex interiors.
  • Experience leading projects through design development to closeout; strong coordination skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of interior construction, detailing, materials, and methods.
  • Strong knowledge of codes, ADA, life-safety, and MEP coordination.
  • Experience with multifamily/hospitality environments preferred.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Revit, BIM coordination, Enscape, AutoCAD; Adobe Suite; SketchUp.
  • NCIDQ certification and LEED accreditation preferred.
  • Occasional travel within the US.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical development and execution of interior architecture for new development and renovations.
  • Translate design direction into buildable solutions focusing on details and materials.
  • Lead development and QC of drawings and specifications.
  • Coordinate with architectural/MEP consultants to resolve conflicts pre-construction.
  • Provide on-site oversight including submittals, RFIs, and field conditions.
  • Mentor design team members and strengthen BIM/documentation standards.
  • Manage Revit/BIM strategy and ensure design intent is delivered.

The Role

The Senior Manager, Interior Architect, is responsible for providing technical leadership and oversight for interior design projects across new development and capital improvement renovation projects for Vivmark multifamily portfolio. This role serves as a key bridge between design vision and construction execution, ensuring that interior environments are thoughtfully detailed, technically coordinated, constructible, and delivered in alignment with project design intent, budget, schedule, and quality expectations.

The Senior Manager will lead the technical development of in‑house designed projects, support and oversee external consultants, and establish a high standard for interior architectural documentation, coordination, and construction administration.

Job Description
  • Lead the technical development and execution of interior architecture for in‑house designed new development and renovation projects throughout all design phases.
  • Translate conceptual interior design direction into well‑resolved, buildable design solutions, with particular attention to architectural details, material transitions, millwork, ceilings, and other custom design elements.
  • Lead development, review, and quality control of construction documents, and specifications.
  • Coordinate interior architecture with architectural, structural, MEP, lighting, low‑voltage, signage, accessibility, and other specialty consultants to identify and resolve conflicts prior to construction.
  • Provide technical oversight during construction, including review of submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, mock‑ups, field conditions, punch lists, and proposed substitutions.
  • Participate in site visits and construction meetings to evaluate installation quality, resolve field issues, and ensure that completed work reflects the approved design intent and documentation.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to interior designers and other design team members, helping strengthen the team's knowledge of documentation, construction, and project delivery.
  • Serve as a senior technical resource for the Design team, helping troubleshoot complex design and construction issues and manage Revit and BIM strategy for the team.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field.
  • 12-15 years of relevant professional experience in architecture, interior architecture, or interior design, including significant experience with technically complex interior projects and construction execution.
  • Demonstrated experience leading projects through design development, construction documentation, permitting, bidding, construction administration, and project closeout.
  • Advanced knowledge of interior construction, detailing, materials, and construction methods.
  • Strong understanding of building codes, ADA/accessibility requirements, life‑safety considerations, and coordination of architectural interiors with MEP and other building systems.
  • Extensive experience reviewing and producing construction documents, specifications, shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and other construction administration documentation.
  • Strong ability to review consultant documentation and identify coordination gaps, constructability issues, technical inconsistencies, and potential field conflicts before they impact construction.
  • Experience with multifamily residential, hospitality, mixed‑use, or other high‑quality residential environments preferred.
  • Strong communication, presentation, collaboration, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit, BIM coordination, Enscape, and AutoCAD, with working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp.
  • NCIDQ certification preferred.
  • LEED accreditation preferred.
  • Occasional travel within the US required.
