Qualifications

• Ability to operate independently and influence cross-functional decisions.
• Experience in obesity/diabetes/cardiometabolic areas preferred but not required.
• Experience in lean or rapidly growing biotech environments is beneficial.
• Excellent scientific communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide scientific leadership across clinical development programs and studies.
• Contribute to development strategy, study design, endpoints and eligibility criteria.
• Lead or support development of protocols, amendments and other key clinical documents.
• Review and interpret emerging safety, efficacy and biomarker data.
• Partner with program physicians, Clinical Operations, Biometrics, Regulatory and cross-functional teams.
• Support medical monitoring activities and risk identification/resolution.
• Contribute to regulatory submissions, health-authority interactions and governance presentations.
• Translate clinical data and external developments into actionable program recommendations.

Director / Senior Director, Clinical Science

Location: Remote, United States, with periodic travel to the San Francisco Bay Area

Kennedy Bond is partnering with a well-funded, clinical-stage biotechnology company developing differentiated therapies for obesity and cardiometabolic disease.

The company is expanding its Clinical Development organization and seeking a Director or Senior Director of Clinical Science to help advance its clinical-stage portfolio. This is a highly visible, hands-on position within a lean organization, offering meaningful ownership of clinical programs and close collaboration with senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide scientific leadership across clinical development programs and studies
• Contribute to clinical development strategy, study design, endpoints and eligibility criteria
• Lead or support the development of protocols, amendments and other key clinical documents
• Review and interpret emerging safety, efficacy and biomarker data
• Partner closely with program physicians, Clinical Operations, Biometrics, Regulatory, Safety and other cross-functional stakeholders
• Support medical monitoring activities and the identification and resolution of study-level risks
• Contribute to regulatory submissions, health-authority interactions and internal governance presentations
• Translate clinical data and external scientific developments into actionable program recommendations
• Build productive relationships with investigators, external experts, vendors and development partners

Candidate Profile

• PharmD, PhD or equivalent advanced scientific or clinical degree required
• Significant clinical development or clinical science experience within biotechnology or pharmaceutical organizations
• Experience supporting clinical studies from protocol development through execution, data review and study reporting
• Strong understanding of clinical trial design, data interpretation and drug-development principles
• Demonstrated ability to operate independently and influence cross-functional program decisions
• Experience in obesity, diabetes, endocrinology, cardiometabolic disease or an adjacent therapeutic area is preferred but not required
• Experience working within a lean or rapidly growing biotechnology company is beneficial
• Excellent scientific communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills
