Job Summary

The Director, Sponsor and Leveraged Finance - Portfolio Management at Huntington manages a portfolio within the bank’s Sponsor and Leveraged Finance vertical in the Corporate Specialty and Government Banking group. Responsibilities include servicing and deepening client relationships, evaluating opportunities, and mitigating risks in accordance with bank policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage credit and monitor risks of the Commercial portfolio.
• Oversee syndicated, complex commercial loans.
• Support Leveraged Finance relationships for Syndications and Large Corporate transactions.
• Ensure portfolio quality and creditworthiness, collaborating with team leaders and Credit Officers.
• Provide credit recommendations and review loan documentation with legal counsel.
• Monitor ongoing risk factors, including credit ratings and loan adherence.
• Conduct annual reviews, manage collateral, delinquencies, and reporting.
• Enhance customer relationships in coordination with Relationship Managers and other teams.
• Mentor and train colleagues.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum 7 years of portfolio management experience.
• At least 3 years in Sponsor and Leveraged Finance portfolio management.

Preferred Qualifications

• 10+ years in banking with increasing responsibilities, including 5+ years in Sponsor and Leveraged Finance.
• Industry knowledge and network within the sector preferred.
• Formal credit training completion.
• Proven success in structuring complex credits and creating risk-minimizing documentation.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and related software.

Preferred locations: Charlotte, NC or Columbus, OH.
