Job summary

New Story Schools seeks an experienced Special Education Director to guide campus instructional vision, ensure standards compliance, and lead curriculum design for diverse learners. You will mentor teachers, oversee IEP development, and manage budgets to sustain high-quality programs.

The role requires a Master’s degree (preferred) with PA Special Education certification, five years in SPED including leadership, and strong communication and organizational skills to collaborate with families and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Education or related field preferred
• Pennsylvania certification in Special Education or Supervisor of Special Education required
• Minimum of five years of experience in special education, including four in a leadership or teaching role
• Strong knowledge of PDE regulations, IEP development, and curriculum design for diverse learners
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily school operations and ensure compliance with Department of Education standards
• Supervise and support teachers in implementing effective instruction and behavioral practices
• Lead the IEP process, collaborating with staff, families, and districts to ensure student needs are met
• Manage the school’s academic budget and resources to maintain program quality and sustainability
• Build strong relationships with families, school districts, and community partners to enhance services
