Job description

Direct broad-based fundraising strategies for Special Constituencies Giving within Seattle Children's Foundation & Guild Association, driving strategy, growth and revenue through third-party fundraising initiatives, external-workplace giving campaigns, patient family philanthropy and Seattle Children's workforce giving. Serve as a primary leader in nurturing strong relationships with community organizers, patient families, workplace and workforce donors/prospective donors.

Establish and track programmatic metrics to achieve Annual Giving team objectives, including maximizing fundraising revenue, acquiring new donors, retaining current donors and enhancing charity of choice status. Collaborate with Foundation and Guild Association leadership, board members, and volunteers to establish a seamless pathway converting broad-based community and workforce involvement into leadership and major giving opportunities.

  • Direct the overarching goals, growth strategies, and donor retention plans for Seattle Children’s Special Constituencies Giving program to achieve and exceed $4M in annual fundraising. Co-create and track Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) to align program initiatives with broader Foundation strategies, build internal visibility, and ensure rigorous outcome measurement.
  • Design, monitor, and measure evergreen fundraising pathways—including independent third-party events, peer-to-peer (P2P) campaigns, patient family outreach, youth philanthropy, and external workplace giving—to maximize broad-based community engagement. Collaborate closely with Prospect Development to identify and transition high-capacity donors to Leadership Annual, Major, Principal, Legacy and Corporate portfolios.
  • Provide strategic leadership, overall direction, and high-level governance for Patient Family Philanthropy program fundraising. Partner with Advancement Services, Donor Experience, fundraising teams, and clinical stakeholders to direct the long-term program roadmap, ensure seamless programmatic alignment across multiple departments and maximize fundraising revenue.
  • Develop, scale, and manage Seattle Children’s workforce fundraising initiatives to achieve year-over-year increases in employee giving. Employ data-driven strategies to track workforce philanthropic engagement and orchestrate targeted events and communications, including presenting directly to internal departments, to inspire staff-wide participation.
  • Partner closely with executive staff, Foundation leadership, and cross-functional colleagues to develop, communicate, and execute targeted fundraising strategies for high-priority third-party campaigns, including the Auction of Washington Wines, and other assigned community-led initiatives. Oversee the strategic, thoughtful, and judicious engagement of clinical faculty, community volunteers, patient families, and trustees in special constituent and community-led fundraising events to foster deep mission connection.
  • Supervise the Special Constituencies Giving team through consistent performance management practices, including communicating goals and performance objectives, and regularly monitoring, evaluating, and improving individual and team performance. Coach and mentor staff and provide training and development activities to build staff competencies and to ensure that staff complies with all required training.
  • Manage assigned program budgets and cost centers, continually refining operational processes, work assignment methods, and project prioritization to champion new and returning donor growth.
  • Represent Special Constituencies on cross-functional leadership teams, collaborating with marketing, communications, and development colleagues across Annual Giving, Major Giving, Guild Association, and Legacy Planning to optimize donor cultivation. Actively participate in external networks, including the Woodmark Group, to stay aligned with industry-wide best practices.
