Job summary

Children’s Rescue Fund in New York, NY is seeking a Director of Social Services to oversee shelter sites within the assigned region, providing leadership to ensure high-quality social services and compliant operations.

You will direct housing programs, supervise social service staff, collaborate with realtors, develop individualized service plans, and ensure accurate CARES documentation, reporting to DHS/OTDA, with a focus on housing stability for families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field is required.
• At least three years of supervisory experience in social services, housing or emergency shelter.
• Experience with housing or multi-problem families is desirable.
• Ability to calmly manage emergencies and work with a team.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills; excellent communication.

Responsibilities

• Oversee housing team, ensuring targets are met with supportive supervision.
• Identify and collaborate with realtors to locate housing for families in shelter.
• Facilitate case conferences and develop individualized service plans.
• Promote linkages with other providers to secure housing resources.
• Provide supervision to staff and ensure CARES documentation is accurate.
• Attend DHS meetings and report incidents per DHS/OTDA mandates.
• Maintain program documentation and data entry per agency standards.
