Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
  • 10+ years in pharmaceutical cleanroom design and technical review.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 8, ISO 7, and ISO 5 cleanroom standards.
  • Experience with CAPEX and OPEX budgeting.
  • Experience leading complex infrastructure projects.
  • Contractor and supplier management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead asset management and reliability programs for the site.
  • Oversee new building projects, including cleanroom construction and revamping.
  • Manage budget proposals and CAPEX/OPEX execution.
  • Coordinate with Finance, Procurement, Quality and Operations for infrastructure strategy.

About the job

The Director of Site Infrastructure and Facilities provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for Facilities, Maintenance, Asset Management, Capital Projects, Engineering Services, and Energy Management at the Fishers site. This role ensures site infrastructure, utilities, assets, and support systems are reliable, compliant, and aligned with current and future business needs.

The site is adding a new cleanroom to the existing building, and this role leads that build. The successful candidate must be a builder, not a caretaker, with the energy and leadership capability to develop people, strengthen organizational capability, improve reliability, execute strategic projects, and support business growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Asset Management & Reliability

  • Develop and execute the site asset management strategy and long term lifecycle plans.
  • Improve reliability, uptime, and maintenance effectiveness through preventive, predictive, and reliability centered programs.
  • Strengthen spare parts strategy, CMMS governance, and asset performance controls.
  • Lead site facilities, utilities, and infrastructure operations.
  • Ensure systems remain reliable, compliant, and capable of supporting business growth.
  • Oversee new building, plant, and facilities projects, including cleanroom construction and revamping, ensuring outcomes meet technical and legal specifications, economics, timing targets, and standards with minimal disruption to normal business activity.
  • Manage assigned projects across the full lifecycle: requirements collection, feasibility, design, installation, validation, commissioning, and rollout, while monitoring economics, resources, workloads, and plan progression.
  • Plan and assign cascading project and activity plans, monitor progression, and resolve critical issues through prompt preventive and corrective action.
  • Optimize project economics and return on investment in line with standards.
  • Ensure accurate formalization of documents, tools, and protocols so implementation and execution hold up against applicable technical, legal, and standards requirements.
  • Participate in Steering Committee to evaluate delivery outcomes and define the solutions needed to achieve results.
  • Deliver technological standardization across the relevant pharma and plastic plants, promoting projects that improve efficiency and effectiveness of buildings and facilities in scope.
  • Lead the transactional processes with public authorities and institutions for practices and certificates tied to the buildings and plants in scope, working with internal functions and qualified technical providers.

Industrial Network & Applications Management

  • Provide technical support to the pharma and plastic business by creating and managing industrial and geographical networks and data acquisition and transmission processes at the required service level.
  • Select, configure, and install security systems, including video surveillance and access control, in line with technical requirements, policies, and standards.

Production Equipment Management

  • Lead installation, testing, and validation of new production lines for the site, working with the teams involved and respecting business, technical, and legal requirements and standards.

Budget Management

  • Build and present the budget proposal, including industrial equipment CAPEX.
  • Ensure fulfillment of COGS and CAPEX commitments and manage the assigned budget.
  • Participate in supplier selection and ensure the supply chain team receives the technical documentation needed to run the procurement process.
  • Review supplier agreements when required.

Leadership & Organizational Development

  • Coach leaders, create accountability, and strengthen performance management.
  • Foster collaboration across functions, engagement, and leadership development.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degreein Engineering or related field
  • 10+ years of pharmaceutical cleanroom design and technical review.Strong knowledge of ISO 8, ISO 7, and ISO 5 cleanroom design, with the ability to conduct technical reviews and ensure solutions are aligned with business, operational, and GMP requirements.
  • Value engineering.Ability to identify and implement cost effective engineering solutions while maintaining quality, compliance, reliability, and business continuity.
  • Construction and engineering expertise.Extensive knowledge of pharmaceutical construction, including cleanrooms, HVAC systems, critical utilities, and associated infrastructure.
  • CAPEX and OPEX management.Experience in budget planning, tracking, and cost control across CAPEX and OPEX programs, ensuring financial performance against approved targets.
  • Portfolio and project management.Experience managing complex infrastructure portfolios and prioritizing investments and projects according to business needs, site strategy, risk, and operational priorities.
  • Contractor and supplier management.Proven ability to manage engineering contractors, construction partners, and strategic suppliers, ensuring performance, quality, safety, compliance, and delivery against agreed scope, cost, and schedule.
  • Collaboration across functions.Strong collaboration with Finance, Procurement, Quality, Operations, Maintenance, and Supply Chain to align infrastructure strategy, investments, and execution with business priorities, operational requirements, and site performance.
