Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics in Indianapolis seeks a Director, Program Management to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for CMC programs, partnering with Product Development and Operations to deliver the portfolio across process development, supply chain, production, and related functions.

You will lead the Program Management team, establish governance, KPIs, coordinate across functions, manage risks, and communicate executive updates, ensuring timely execution and patient impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in life sciences, chemistry, engineering, pharmaceutical sciences, business, or related field.
• 10+ years life sciences experience with program/project management and CMC, manufacturing or site operations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional matrixed teams on complex programs.

Responsibilities

• Serve on Indianapolis site leadership team; align with Product Development and Operations leadership.
• Build and lead Program Management team; establish planning, systems, governance routines, KPIs.
• Ensure CMC portfolio delivery by partnering across process development, supply chain, production, quality, regulatory, engineering, and external partners.
• Translate priorities into integrated plans, timelines, risk mitigation, and performance reporting.
• Lead prioritization/escalations to resolve barriers and maintain focus on business and patient impact.
• Manage integrated CMC program planning/execution across site operations, global program teams, Quality, Regulatory, Finance, and Commercial stakeholders.
• Coordinate initiatives: manufacturing readiness, technology transfer, supply chain planning, engineering projects, CAPA, operational readiness.
• Identify critical-path risks/dependencies/resource constraints; drive mitigation and timely escalation.
• Facilitate governance forums with clear agendas, decisions, actions, owners, and follow-through.
• Recruit/develop/manage program talent; define PM accountabilities/decision rights/ways of working.
• Communicate executive updates/dashboards/decision materials; translate complex information into actions; surface risks/issues early.

Education & Experience (Required/Preferred)

• Required: Bachelor’s in life sciences, chemistry, engineering, pharmaceutical sciences, business, or related; advanced degree preferred.
• Required: 10+ years life sciences experience with significant program/project management and CMC, manufacturing, process development, or site operations.
• Demonstrated leading cross-functional matrixed teams for complex programs.
• Strongly preferred: CMC execution, manufacturing readiness, technology transfer, supply chain planning, or commercial readiness.
• Preferred: build PM capabilities (operating models, governance routines, dashboards/systems/KPIs); people management.

Skills & Qualifications

• Strategic, execution-focused; translate portfolio priorities into actionable measurable outcomes.
• Strong understanding of drug development/CMC/manufacturing/supply chain/quality/regulatory and/or radiopharmaceutical environments.
• Proven ability to influence senior leaders without direct authority.
• Excellent communication, analytical/problem-solving, prioritization, and executive presentation.
• Demonstrated ability to build teams, implement tools/processes, and drive continuous improvement; leverages AI for program/portfolio/function performance.

Compensation & Benefits (as stated)

• Indianapolis: $203,389–$246,459; additional incentives may apply.
