Job summary

RayzeBio in Indianapolis is seeking a Director, Site and CMC Program Management to provide strategic leadership for end-to-end CMC programs and site operations. You will shape governance, enable cross-functional collaboration, and drive portfolio delivery to support oncology radiopharmaceutical development.

The role requires 10+ years in pharma/biotech with PM/CMC experience, strong leadership, and the ability to align diverse teams toward patient-focused outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, chemistry, engineering, pharmaceutical sciences, business, or related discipline required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years in pharma/biotech with significant program/CMC experience.
  • Experience leading cross-functional, matrixed teams and complex programs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for Indianapolis site-based and end-to-end CMC programs.
  • Build and lead the Program Management team; establish governance, KPIs, and reporting.
  • Coordinate site and portfolio initiatives including manufacturing readiness, tech transfer, and supply chain planning.
  • Identify risks and dependencies; drive mitigation and escalation as needed.

Position Summary:

The Director, Program Management will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for Indianapolis site-based and end-to-end CMC programs. This role will serve on the site leadership team, partner with Product Development and Operations leadership, build core program management capabilities, and ensure effective portfolio delivery across process development, supply chain, production, and related functions.

Job Responsibilities:
Program Management Strategic Leadership
  • Serve on the Indianapolis site leadership team to drive strategic priorities and ensure alignment with Product Development and Operations leadership.
  • Build and lead the Program Management team, including planning capabilities, systems, processes, governance routines, and KPIs to drive execution.
  • Ensure CMC portfolio delivery by partnering across global product teams, key functions--process development, supply chain, production, quality, regulatory, engineering, and external partners.
  • Translate strategic priorities into integrated plans, timelines, decision points, risk mitigation strategies, and performance reporting.
  • Lead prioritization and escalation discussions to align resources, resolve barriers, and maintain focus on business and patient-impact priorities.
End-to-End CMC and Site Program Execution
  • Manage integrated CMC program planning and execution across site operations, global program teams, Product Development functions, Quality, Regulatory, Finance, and Commercial stakeholders.
  • Coordinate key site and portfolio initiatives, including manufacturing readiness, technology transfer, supply chain planning, engineering projects, CAPA related initiatives, and operational readiness.
  • Identify critical path risks, dependencies, resource constraints, and execution barriers; drive mitigation planning and timely escalation.
  • Facilitate effective governance forums with clear agendas, decisions, actions, owners, and follow-through.
Team and Capability Building
  • Recruit, develop, and manage program management talent to support evolving CMC and site priorities.
  • Define PM accountabilities, decision rights, escalation pathways, standards, tools, templates, and ways of working.
  • Strengthen program management maturity through critical path analysis, scenario planning, executive communication, governance preparation, and performance tracking.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, risk management, continuous improvement, and clear communication.
Communication, Governance, and Stakeholder Management
  • Prepare concise updates, dashboards, decision materials, and executive communications for site leadership and governance forums.
  • Translate complex technical, operational, and portfolio information into clear insights, recommendations, and actions.
  • Serve as a bridge across site operations, global program teams, external partners, and enterprise leadership.
  • Promote transparency by surfacing risks, issues, decisions, and trade-offs early through appropriate governance channels.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, chemistry, engineering, pharmaceutical sciences, business, or related discipline required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or related life sciences experience, with significant experience in program/project management and CMC, manufacturing, process development, or site operations.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional, matrixed teams and complex programs with multiple stakeholders, risks, dependencies, and competing priorities.
  • Experience supporting CMC execution, manufacturing readiness, technology transfer, supply chain planning, or commercial readiness strongly preferred.
  • Experience building program management capabilities, operating models, governance routines, dashboards, systems, and KPIs preferred.
  • Prior people management experience preferred.

  • Strategic, execution-focused leader able to translate portfolio priorities into actionable plans and measurable outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of drug development, CMC, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, regulatory, and/or radiopharmaceutical environments.
  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders and align cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, problem-solving, prioritization, and executive presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build teams, implement tools and processes, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.
  • Leverages AI to drive program, portfolio, or functional performance through prioritization and scaled adoption
Physical Demands and Work Environment

This role is primarily office-based with occasional travel to site, partner, or manufacturing locations as needed.

Compensation Overview:

Indianapolis - RayzeBio - IN: $203,389 - $246,459

The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee’s work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.
