Job summary

Maxonic Inc. seeks an experienced engineering leader to drive next‑gen internal test platforms for NAND, SSD, and memory product development. You will manage Hardware, Software, and Firmware teams to deliver reliable, scalable tester solutions from concept to deployment.

You will guide architecture decisions, oversee platform development, and collaborate with Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Operations to ensure robust, cost-effective solutions across the lifecycle.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced engineering leader to lead the development of next-generation internal test platforms used for NAND, SSD, and memory product development, qualification, and manufacturing. This role will manage a multidisciplinary team comprising Hardware, Software, and Firmware engineers and be responsible for delivering reliable, scalable, and cost-effective tester solutions from concept through production deployment.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise in hardware design, system architecture, embedded systems, NAND memory technologies, and manufacturing test solutions with demonstrated success leading global engineering teams. This leader will drive architecture decisions, oversee platform development, lead complex debugging efforts, and collaborate closely with Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Operations teams.

Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

• Define and execute the roadmap for internal test platforms supporting NAND and SSD products.
• Lead multi-functional HW, SW, and FW teams through architecture, design, validation, deployment, and sustaining activities.
• Establish engineering processes, development milestones, and quality gates to ensure robust product delivery.
• Provide technical leadership for tester platforms involving servers, custom electronics, embedded controllers, high-speed interfaces, and factory automation solutions.
• Drive innovation in test methodologies, automation, AI-assisted engineering workflows, and manufacturing efficiency.

Platform Development

• Own the complete development lifecycle of internal test equipment and validation systems.
• Lead architecture definition and design reviews.
• Work closely with Product Engineering and Manufacturing teams to define platform requirements and future roadmaps.
• Ensure successful system integration across hardware, firmware, software, automation systems, and factory infrastructure.
• Drive platform reliability, scalability, and long-term supportability.

Hardware Design & System Architecture

• Review and approve:
• Hardware requirements
• Validation plans
• Manufacturing readiness reviews

Guide development of:

• Protocol boards
• High-speed communication systems
• Evaluate design trade-offs involving performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost.
• Lead complex system-level debug activities involving hardware, firmware, drivers, and software.
• Perform and direct root-cause investigations for:
• NVMe issues
• Signal integrity concerns
• Firmware interactions
• System reliability issues
• Utilize oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, and other engineering tools to resolve issues efficiently.
• Drive corrective and preventive actions to improve tester robustness and yield.
• Manage and mentor Hardware, Software, Firmware, and Systems Engineers.
• Build and develop a high-performing engineering organization.
• Establish technical development plans and succession planning.
• Foster a culture of ownership, innovation, collaboration, and execution excellence.
• Manage project priorities, staffing plans, and engineering budgets.
