Job summary

Google Cloud is seeking a Director of Security Software Engineering to shape and scale an autonomous security program across cloud-native platforms. You will lead multi-tier teams, embedding security into AI-driven development at hyperscale.

You will eliminate vulnerabilities, define secure SDLC paradigms for AI-enabled code, and align security initiatives with executive priorities to protect enterprise Cloud solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 15+ years of software engineering, systems architecture, or security experience.
• 8+ years leading engineering teams and managing managers.
• Experience building distributed systems, security platforms, or cloud-native tooling.

• Define multi-year technical vision and engineering standards across security platforms while partnering with senior executives.
• Architect ASPM frameworks, incorporating automated detection, continuous verification, and telemetry to reduce manual audits.
• Pioneer secure-by-design SDLC paradigms for AI-generated code and agentic development with runtime governance.
• Drive cloud-native security across microservices and distributed platforms using AI/ML for rapid defensive actions.

Minimum qualifications:

As the Director of Security Software Engineering, you will build and scale a critical engineering organization at the forefront of securing modern cloud software ecosystems. You will define the overarching technical vision, strategy, and execution for autonomous security posture, next-generation secure software lifecycles, and cloud-native defense across Google Cloud.

In this senior leadership role, you will combine deep software engineering and security architecture expertise with a passion for leading high-performing, multi-tiered engineering teams.
