Job summary

ALM First Group in Dallas seeks a mid-level investment professional to source, analyze, and trade securitized credit ideas across idiosyncratic, relative value, and macro themes.

The role supports portfolio positioning, hedging, and risk analytics, partnering with the analytics team and serving as a subject-matter expert to client service and sales teams; adherence to firm policies and regulatory guidelines is essential.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of relevant work experience in asset management or related field.
• Experience trading securitized products.
• Experience with options, derivatives, and advanced hedging techniques.
• Proficiency with Bloomberg, Intex, and related analytics platforms.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and analytical rigor.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, mathematics, or another quantitative discipline; advanced degree and/or professional designation is a plus.

This position sits within the ALM First Investment Management Group (IMG), focused primarily on securitized credit trading for the firm’s discretionary and non-discretionary clients.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Position is ideally based onsite in our Dallas office.
• Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer while analyzing investments, monitoring markets, and participating in meetings.
• Occasional travel may be required for client meetings, conferences, and company events.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, investment research, market data, industry publications, and regulatory materials. Ability to prepare clear and concise investment commentary, research reports, and client communications. Ability to effectively communicate market views, investment recommendations, and portfolio strategies to clients, colleagues, and executive leadership.
