As the Great Wolf Director of Sales and Catering, your focus is to manage and grow relationships to exceed guest satisfaction and meet revenue goals. You will be responsible for setting revenue-generating strategies for soliciting, booking, managing, and overseeing sales and conference service teams.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Achieve sales objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining team members; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures.
- Take overall responsibility for total group revenue strategies, implementation, and results, including group rooms, food and beverage, meeting room rental, and other group revenues as assigned by the corporate director of sales.
- Leverage the Sales Team to execute sales strategies to meet financial targets.
- Meet financial objectives by maximizing profitability through forecasting requirements, preparing annual performance budgets, scheduling expenditures, and analyzing variances.
- Determine annual and gross-profit plans by forecasting and developing sales quotas for various market segments, projecting expected sales volume and revenue, analyzing trends, establishing pricing strategies, and monitoring costs, competition, and product demand.
- Develop and evaluate field sales action plans to accomplish sales objectives.
- Maintain rapport with key accounts through periodic visits, exploring specific needs, and identifying new opportunities.
- Represent the lodge in resolving complaints from groups and attendees, including billing and reservations issues.
Basic Qualifications & Skills
- Associate degree in Sales, Communications, Marketing, Business, or Hotel Management.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in sales, event planning, and/or catering.
- At least 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience in the hospitality field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Successful completion of criminal background check, drug screen, and Department of Motor Vehicle check.
- Excellent verbal and written professional communication skills.
