The Apogee Large Scale Optical segment has grown from $100M to $200M in revenue through a recent acquisition. Position Summary

The Director of Sales role will oversee sales operations, develop strategic plans and report to the Vice President.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to the sales team.
  • Lead sales team to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
  • Reviews and analyzes sales/operational records and reports; uses data to project sales, determine profitability and targets, and identify potential new markets.
  • Manages existing customers while prospecting new clients and/or markets.
  • Identifies and analyzes customer preferences to properly direct sales efforts.
  • Consults with potential customers to understand their needs; identifies and suggests equipment, products, or services that will meet those needs.
  • Collaborates with executive leadership to develop sales budgets and strategies.
  • Prepare and submit customer quotations.
  • Travel up to 75% of time visiting customers throughout USA. Periodic international travel may also be required.
  • Acts as company representative at trade association meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Personal Attributes and Experience

  • BS degree in Business, Business Administration, Engineering or related field, OR
  • Comparable record of sales leadership experience required.
  • At least five years of sales experience required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good sales and customer service skills with ability to negotiate.
  • Outstanding supervisory, leadership and organization skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift at least 15 pounds at times.
